The national flag of Australia
Australia was made as a country of 6 colonieson 1st January 1901.

The Union Jack expresses the history of England.
The part of the Southern Cross expresses that Australia is located in the south.
A big star under the Union means 6 states and 1 semi state.

This national flag have been recognized as an Australian national flag legitimately after 50 year.
Why was it?

A vehicle experience of Sydney

Taxi

I recommend taking the taxi in Sydney.

The public vehicle (a train and a Monorail) of Sydney costs high fee.
So in case of 3 people, their fee of a train or a Monorail are sometimes higher than taxi's fee

The train's fee(from airport to city) takes about A$15(a person)for about 20 minutes.
We payed A$42(for 2 people from airport to city) as a taxi's fee.

Though it was A$12 over the train fee, I recommend the taxi.
It is fast, convenient, and comfortable(you don't need to bring your heavy trunk).

Any driver of taxi was good.
By the way, you have to open the door by yourself.
Don't forget it please.
This airport looked a local airport.
It was very small.
This is a line of peole waiting for the taxi. a pay-by-the-meter-system.
When you ride alone, it is an ausi style to sit on front seat.

Monorail

When we go to the Fish market, we try to get on the train.
We entered to China town station early morning.

When we entered the station, there was only an old woman there.
I asked her "We would like to go to Fish market. Is this train OK?"
She answered "Ok".

I paid A$18 for 2 peope fee.
I thought it was expencive.
But the ticket was 1 day ticket, we didn't know that.

And when we tried to put a ticket into the ticket checker,
she told us to go through the ticket gate
(In case of 1 day ticket, you just show a ticket and can go though.)

I asked her "When does the train come?"
She unbelievably said "I don't know."

I thought she probably might be a housecleaner.
I asked her again,"How long does it take to Fish market".
She called me in the room, and said " not far"
We should have got on from Paddy's station of the blue line, not from China towm of red line. We made a mistake.
Monorail station The seat of the Monorail is pretty. This is the Lightrail.

Lightrail

We changed from Monorail to Lightrail. You can get the ticket on the train.
We arrived at Fish market at last.
You can buy a ticket from the conductor in a blue shirt The door does not open unless you push the button of the door The Lightrail to Fish market

Delicious in Sydney

Fruits

I think fruits are very delicious.
Especially the mangos were really sweet and very cheap.
Try them in food court and market.
I recommend adding grapes and lychees.

Fruits pack sold in food court is convenient.
The name is "Fresh fruits salada". A$4 a package

The food court of Sydney Central along George street(The basement floor)
I recommend that place.

Flat White(coffee)

Flat White was the coffee covered with milk.
It is a special favorite drink of Catherine.
Hideo had always drunk it in Sydney.
Regular size A$3.9. large size A$4.40

Macademia nut

We bought it in the Paddy's market.
In fact Australia is the birthplace of th macademia nut, not Hawaii.
These nuts were big and very delicious.

The restaurant of emigrant

We can meet people of various races when we walk the way.
So there are verious restaurants of emigrant.

Italy, Spain, Iran, Ulu Gui, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Korea.
We saw a lot of Japanese sushi restaurants.

This is Thai lunch at a restaurant of emigrant in the Darling harbor line.
It was very delicious(made by tofu and Aussie beef).

The taste of the tire, "Rico rye"

"It tasts very bad. If you cannot eat, spit it, please.
And it is better not to try it if you don't bring a bottle of water."
After that comment, a tour guide gave me a Rico.

Because I wanted to experience anything, I ate it.

It tasted really bad, and it sticked to a tooth.
It was taste like a tire flying by a flypan.

It is known as "a day lily" in Japan.

The children in Australia like silverberry,
Rico rye looks like silverberry, so I think they can eat it.
it might be a custom.

The fascination salsa at the Spanish pub
Salsa

The salsa that I watched to at a pub of Cairns six years ago is the begining of my salsa.
Its steps were cheerful while changing a partner each time.

We went to the Spanish pub expecting it.
Unfortunately the salsa party is closed, because of New Year holidays.
But we was able to watch young ladies dancing in the corner of the pub.

The skirt of one of young ladies was very short.
When she waved her waist heavily(^^;),her buttock appeared little by little.
Young men, middle-age men and old men watched her with all smile

All the time she danced with lovely smiles.

Pub named "Hotel"
There are a lot of buildings named "HOTEL"in Sydney
In fact these are pabs where we can drink liquor, not hotels.

Pubs had not been to open at night in old days,
They named their pubs "Hotel". So they were able to open their pubs during the night.

Of course, "LORD NELSON HOTEL(a picture)" is a pub.
Everyone was enjoying drinking and eating at the terrace.
