4.Eco-tour in Port Stephens

I found this tour on internet. It was very interesting and had various events.
<Eco-tour in Port Stephens:A$220 a person(about 20,000yen)・by net reserveA$198(about 18,000 yen)

We came to Port Stevens (20km to north) for 2 hours and a half by a car.
Because nature is protected in Port Stevens, we can watch some wild Koalas and some wild Dolphins,
do marine sports and sandboading.

The Harbor in the Port Stephens faces the South Pacific, and this sea is warm and clear.
And 160 wild bottlenose dolphins live here.

Our ship to watch wild dolphins departed at 10:30. It's cruise takes for 1 hour and a half.
Cruise to watch wild dolphins(2nd January 2010)
Rainy day(not heavy though).
We stayed top of the ship to watch Dolphins more.
Clear sea and 26 beaches(beach's color is a little light brown color).
A lot of sea breams swam under the ship
A captain searches Dolphins, and teaches us the direction.
Soon we found a wild dolphin. To find some dolphins was very easy.
The rule for watching Dolphins:1.Don't feed them 2.Don't approach less than 30m 3.Only 2 Ships for 1 group of Dolphin 4.Don't take over 30 minutes for watching time
We look for the dolphin which goes on the surface of the sea to breathe. When they are hungry, they rarely come to the surface.
The boom net is very interesting. This net is taken down on the sea.
Challenger enters from top of the pipe, turns 3 rounds ,and falls into the sea. You can swim with Dolphin if you hold the net Challengers gathered
Lunch on the ship. Because that day was cold, hot dishes were very nice. So we had enough.
Wild Koala watching(2nd January 2010)
We found the first wild koala soon. It stayed on the tree near the road.
Koala's fur got wet by rain.,and it scratched at its wet fur by a hind leg.
When we were watching the top of the tree, many people stopped here, watched Koala with us.
Look for a big woolen ball if you want to find the koala.
I found second wild koala. This koala was clean, not wet.
It looked at us with a pretty face slowly.

It set his buttocks between a branch and a branch, and both hand caught a branch.
It seems very safe.

I have held a koala in Cains.
Because it hold my arm tight with long nails, I felt my arm pain.
Hands of koala have very strong power.

Suddenly Hideo asked a tour guide a question.
"Is it possible that a koala falls from the tree?"
Oh! What a strange question!

He thought if koala was very old, it will fall from the tree.
The tour guide answered seriously "I have not yet heard the story that a koala fell from the tree."

By the way koalas sleep for 18-20 hours.
The tour guide told us that it was very lucky because both 2 koalas woke up.
Sand boading(2nd January 2010)
The 4wd run and bound on the huge sand.
When ladies screamed at the rear seat, the driver runs more faster, and our car jumped many times.
Stockton Beach is a huge sand area (length:32km) like desert. The next actibity is sand boading.
Everyone step on the board and slide down steep slope(an angle: 25-30 degrees, length:30-40m).

Though Hideo wasn't ready to slide, he slided down because a tour guide pushed his back.
Our course was the longest.
I tried to see the bottom of slope, but I couldn't see well. So I was scared to slide down from the top of the sand.
After I slided down, I felt satisfied and refreshed.
I tried three times(Hideo is just only 1time, because he is a safety first principle man.)
You put a heel on the stick of the board, sit down on the board, and put your hand on the back of the board When you sit down on a board, a tour guide push your back.
So you slide down with your fear.
Screams sound here and there.
Vsiting Winely (2nd January 2010)
This winery is different from the big winery and is called a boutique winery(any wine isn't sold in a market). We tasted 5 bottles of wine. But we couldn't find a favorite wine.
We were a little disappointed.
The weather of the day was rainy, cloudy, sunshine, and heavy rain.
That day's weather often changed.
